來寫個激勵人心的小小的文章。:)
很多人最近問我、也有很多朋友和學生曾經問過我：要怎麼樣才能讓自己的英文進步？答案就在標題上！【多！練！習！】不管用什麼樣的方式、不管在哪裡、不管面對什麼人，都絕對不要害怕用英文。就像騎車和開車一樣，多多練習就會更上手。就算剛開始會用錯字、用錯文法、用錯發音，那也沒有關係。錯了才知道哪裡要改，改了才會進步。我和我妹也不是打從娘胎就會說英文！也是經歷過一番挫折呀！就像現在我的英文寫作還是要下一番功夫才行，真的羨慕英文作業或是journal寫的很好的人！有些人會從補習班開始學英文，但我一直覺得會有更省錢的方法。雖然補習班真的最方便也最快，但是文法並不是英文裡最重要的東西。學習英文最重要的就是要會說！聰明的人應該都要知道"communication is everything"！這句話上個星期上媒體策略的時候，教授時不時的掛在嘴上。也是我們學校之所以會要求每一個國際學生，或是學士學位不是在美語系國家拿到的學生參加英文口試和上會話課。那有人問：要怎麼樣才能讓自己多講英文呢？那還不簡單嗎！？就是盡量說呀！我知道在台灣可能機會非常少，但是台灣不是沒有外國人。看到外國人不要跑！怕什麼呢！不要怕呀！或者跟身邊的親朋好友開口練練英文基本的對話，也是很有幫助的！再不然就是找英文還行的朋友練習，哈，我可以開放報名！哈哈哈哈(往臉上貼金了唉唷)，但要看我看完教授派的文獻、寫完作業、討論完報告後還有沒有空閒的時間。
另外，真的想要練習文法和認識多一點單字的人，可以選擇多看一些英文文章或英文小說。當然不是要各位馬上就拿起Times Magazine來翻，可以從簡單的四格漫畫或是Pinguin出版的小書來看。(楊婷婷政大生加油～哈哈哈，『Island of the Blue Dolphins』永遠都會等妳的！)我個人是沒有學過文法，也沒有被逼過每天背10個單字。但是我個人非常愛看英文原文小說，就是所有有各國版本的小說我都硬買英文版的。雖然我看的很多都不是經典小說，但就跟我聽音樂一樣，我喜歡就好，哈哈。然後呢，多看就會有印象也會更熟悉英文的句型和文字的用法。久而久之，我就慢慢的不再去琢磨自己的文法。因為我們都說，"選最順的那個就對了啦！"，哈哈。其實看美國的影集也有幫助喔！去租『Friends』DVD可以學到很多美式幽默，租『Grey's Anatomy』可以學到很多醫學術語(像我就對"剖腹生產"非常有印象)。但是！重點是你們要去租可以看到英文字幕的影集，不要從網路上下載。因為網路上會直接翻譯成中文字幕，根本沒用！最近我也發現了多聽英文歌和看歌詞也有幫助喔！因為有時候聽到我不會的單字，我就馬上查字典(懶惰鬼當然是用iPhone的電子版，花哈)！下次再聽同一首歌的時候就會記得這個單字摟！但是不要每次都用這種方式背單字，因為它是很random的方法。聽歌時聽到不會的再查就好，不然到最後會很無聊！
其實，我覺得看我的網誌也可以學一點點點點點英文啦，哈哈哈。因為有時候我會懶的查中文用哪一些字會比較順，所以我會直接打英文。那麼，如果有忘記或是不曉得的人，就可以翻字典摟。都不會太難啦，但是我會用到代表這些字很常見摟！哈哈。以後會多打一些英文的句子，讓大家多多熟習，好嗎？呵呵。大家不要急，欲速則不達！慢慢來，英文會跟你當好朋友的！:)

Immerse yourself in the English Culture and force yourself to only communicate in English. The great thing about the university you goto is that there are so many students from your home country that when you are home sick you have the comforts of language and culture around you everyday. When you step outside your comfort zone and spend time with only English speaking locals you will learn much faster and be able to catch on to the humor and subtext of the English Language.

I haven't been homesick because I'm having a wonderful time here with new people and environment. 回覆刪除I can believe you like school, you are a nerd like me. You have not taught me enough Chinese to be able to read yet so I had to use Google Translate. I don't think Google Translate is very accurate though because in your last post you called me fat.

回覆刪除LOL. You can call me Fat as long as you don't get mad when I tell people you are 30 years old. I'm sure in your home country I would be quite large compared to the boys you know. My body fat percentage is about 14% which is quite high compared to men like this who are about 8%. http://www.gregplitt.com/home.html
回覆刪除Give me another 8 weeks and I'll see if I can get there. My membership at FFC is $45 a month. They have a few different levels of membership but I get the special rate because they felt bad that I was fat and really needed to exercise. I know you are a nerd, it's ok to tell people that, nerds are rich like me :).

回覆刪除Is $400 dollars expensive for shoes? All my ex's ever bought were $400 dollars shoes so I guess I thought that was just normal. Maybe shoes are cheaper in Taiwan because people there are small and buy smaller shoes.
