#14 be prepared, this is an English entry

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 2012 is going to be great! I bless you all!

To all the dear people who are reading this blog, I want to thank you all for spending time reading through the bits and pieces of my American life in Chicago. It is weird that it hasn't been snowing here, my aunt and uncle say this is uncommon for a typical December month. It was raining today though, uncle says it should be snowing and the snow should be accumulating at about two feet deep! Can you imagine? It hasn't been like this for almost a decade! I hope it isn't me who bought the weird weather phenomenon to the States. (teehee) More to add, the weather isn't that cold either. The weather forecast says today has 7 degrees Celsius! It should be bellow zero already! However, the wind is blowing freezing chills up and down my spine, and I don't really like how it feels since it freezes my fingers... Hope we won't get terrible blizzards next year.

I have been watching so many movies this holiday. The must-sees are『Mission Impossible 4 - Ghost Protocol』、『Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadows』and『The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo』. I must say, I didn't really like the movie version of the tattoo movie since I like the book more. Overall, the movie is in a fast pace and there are parts of the adaption that didn't let the readers down, especially the portrayal of the character Lisbeth Salander. Rooney Mara surely did an excellent job portraying this character. The slender feature and her aloof, cynical attitude towards anything none-of-her-business businesses are my favorite aspects. She is both mesmerizing in the book as well as in the movie. This is one of the movies you want to watch because it is going to be legendary. I have also been catching up on my readings. Ever since I arrived in the US, I have never picked up a single novel. There are so many books at my aunt's place, there might be 200 of them! The recent one I've read is 『Digital Fortress』by Dan Brown. He is the author of 『The Da Vinci Code』and『Angels and Demons』. I love his intelligence on secret codes. That is why I finished the book with just three days. Yes, this is a recommendation just like Steig Larsson's trilogy on "The Girl".

I thought after spending a few days in the observatory unit in the hospital will help me get rid of the inflammation of my tonsils forever. However, it isn't so. It is very true that tonsil inflammation will come back at anytime and anywhere once you have it. I didn't mention anything but I have been having some relapses since the second week of my discharge. The relapses aren't as severe as before, but they are annoying enough. (At this point, I'm having a minor relapse NOW.) Luckily, I have a few helpful pills sent from Taiwan to help me soothe the illness. The swelling usually lasts for one night and goes down after I take some painkillers or antibiotics. The doctors did suggest I remove my tonsils when I have time. I'm guessing this is the only solution I have until I can forever release myself from antibiotic pills. Furthermore, I had rashes up all over my body after taking too much penicillin prescribed from the hospital. It was so itchy and irritating that lasted for a week! I don't like to take that much medicine, it also affects my menstruation and makes my whole body uncomfortable. I do hope I receive some different suggestions from friends, I don't want to spend that much medical money here in the States! The insurance isn't as convenient and comprehensive as it is in Taiwan.

After reviewing some calculations done by Google (thank you for being so smart and helpful), I've discovered that I have readers all over the world. Most readers are from Taiwan (surely, of course) and the States. I also have readers from Austria, England, Russia, Germany, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Australia, Dubai and Latvija. Seriously, Austria, Russia and Latvija!? I am flattered, people!! I have never imagine having readers from countries other than Taiwan and the States. Thanks a lot for your support! I will keep this blog going, this I promise you. By the way, Latvija???? I don't even know this place until I check my calculations!!! (definitely surprised!) Another thing I found on the calculation, more and more people are using Google Chrom to browse the internet! Nicely done my friends! It is so much easier to use!

This time of the year is the NBA season. Last time I checked, I was only 9 years old when I watched NBA almost every night. It was when I was here in the States with my family in California. All I could remember was the whole family was cheering for Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan who were playing against Utah Jazz for the championship of the year. I cheered entirely (and secretly) for Utah Jazz although I know they will be defeated by the Bulls. I wanted to cheer for them simply because I feel the team is left out in the family. The young Janine wanted them to know someone in the family is cheering for them. (HAHAHAHA!) Can you tell me you didn't do anything naive and silly when you were just a kid?! Nah!! Now I team Chicago Bulls, COMPLETELY! I might join a live game in January when the Bulls are playing at home! Excited already! Yay! I don't know any specific regulations though, I'm just gonna cheer with the crowd. Teehee.

I am having a nice vacation, spending time with family and all the loved ones. I am happy that I am experiencing a totally different life here, meeting different people as well. I know everything will be better once you're out of the vicious box, because mine is already so much better. You can do it too, I believe in you. Don't look back, never look back. You will only be wasting time and the chances of earning something with much more worth. I'm be here for you whenever you need, I will look after you. :)

Have you ever noticed, songs with repeating bridges are always at the top of the chart...! Intriguing! Two repeating bridges songs to end this long nasty English journal, Rihanna's 『We Found Love』and Selena Gomez's『Love You Like A Love Song』. I am so addicted to these two songs now. HA!

bye for now! talk to you later!
